The power output of a 10kWh battery depends on its voltage, current, BMS or inverter.

For example, if a 51.2V 200Ah lithium battery has a maximum continuous discharge current of 100A, its peak power output would be 5.12kW.

The weight of a 10kWh battery depends on its type, design, and usage. For example:

  • A 10kWh NMC lithium battery weighs 60kg to 100kg
  • A 10kWh LFP lithium battery weighs 80kg to 120kg
  • A 10kWh lead-acid battery (made of multiple connected batteries) is much heavier than LFP, usually over 200kg

We need to know the battery’s voltage.

For example, for a 51.2V battery, its capacity is about 195Ah.

The voltage of a 10kWh lithium battery depends on its purpose, application, and design.

Whether a 10kWh battery is enough depends on your equipment’s power and running time. If your total energy use is under 10kWh and running time is short, then 10kWh is enough. If your equipment uses more than 10kWh or needs to run for 1-2 days, you should consider higher capacity batteries.

The main difference between 5kWh and 10kWh batteries is their energy storage capacity. This means they differ in:

You need to know your home’s total power usage.

For 1kW devices (refrigerator, TV, lights, etc.), a 10kWh battery can run for about 10 hours.

A 10kWh lithium battery can last about 10 years.

How long it runs after each full charge depends on your device’s power. The higher the power, the shorter the runtime.

Take a 51.2V 200Ah battery as an example:

  • With 40A current: about 5 hours to fully charge
  • With 100A current: about 2 hours to fully charge

This depends on your solar panel’s power, sunlight hours, and system efficiency.

For example, with 450W solar panels at 85% charging efficiency and 5 hours of daily sunlight:

Total power needed = 10,000Wh ÷ 85% = 11,765Wh

Required solar power = 11,765Wh ÷ 5h = 2,353W ≈ 2.35kW

Number of panels = 2,353W ÷ 450W ≈ 5.2 panels

So we recommend installing 6 x 450W solar panels.

The inverter power depends on the total wattage of appliances running at the same time.

For small devices like lights and fans, we recommend 2-3kW.

For regular household appliances (fridge, washing machine, etc.), 5kW is recommended.

For AC units, induction cookers, or whole-house off-grid systems, go for 8-10kW.
