Il porte le nom d'Alessandro Volta, le scientifique italien qui a d\u00e9couvert le premier les principes de la production de courant \u00e9lectrique par des m\u00e9thodes chimiques. Les volts sont essentiels pour comprendre et calculer la transmission d'\u00e9nergie dans les syst\u00e8mes \u00e9lectriques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans la vie de tous les jours, les piles et les alimentations \u00e9lectriques domestiques sont des sources de tension courantes. La puissance fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la vitesse \u00e0 laquelle le travail est effectu\u00e9 ou l'\u00e9nergie est convertie dans le temps. Si un appareil peut effectuer 1 joule (J) de travail par seconde, sa puissance est de 1 watt. Par exemple, une ampoule de 60 watts consomme 60 joules d'\u00e9nergie par seconde lorsqu'elle fonctionne normalement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elle est omnipr\u00e9sente dans notre vie quotidienne, qu'il s'agisse de chargeurs de t\u00e9l\u00e9phones portables fonctionnant \u00e0 quelques dizaines de watts ou de g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs produisant plusieurs m\u00e9gawatts (MW). Vous \u00eates peut-\u00eatre plus familier avec les kilowatts (Kw), car il s'agit d'une unit\u00e9 plus couramment utilis\u00e9e. 1 kilowatt \u00e9quivaut \u00e0 1000 watts et 1 m\u00e9gawatt \u00e9quivaut \u00e0 1000 kilowatts.
