Questa batteria innovativa utilizza il Nasicon, un conduttore superionico di Na ed elettrolita solido, per risolvere i problemi di efficienza comunemente riscontrati nelle batterie metallo-aria, come la formazione di sottoprodotti di carbonato. Ci\u00f2 si ottiene proteggendo gli elettrodi di sodio metallico dall'esposizione all'aria e consentendo la rottura dei carbonati durante le reazioni elettrochimiche, aumentando cos\u00ec la tensione di esercizio e riducendo il gap di tensione durante i cicli di carica e scarica. La cella sodio-aria allo stato solido presenta inoltre un'elevata capacit\u00e0 cinetica grazie a un catolita formato in situ che facilita la rapida conduzione degli ioni sodio all'interno dell'elettrodo.<\/p>\n<p>Questo sviluppo rappresenta un significativo passo avanti per le batterie metallo-aria di prossima generazione, offrendo una piattaforma stabile basata su un elettrolita solido che funziona efficacemente in condizioni ambientali.
